In 2011 Freedom Designs, Inc. celebrated its 30 year anniversary. For 30 over years we have designed and manufactured specialized wheelchair frames, custom seating and positioning systems, hardware and accessories.

Freedom is proud of its many on-going industry contributions over the years. These include active involvement with seating, positioning and wheelchair code development for funding agencies, offering the first technical seminars for therapist/dealer training, design and manufacture of the first folding Tilt-In-Space wheelchair, as well as assuming a leadership role in wheelchair and transport crash testing of chairs.

In 2004, Freedom Designs was acquired by Invacare Corporation, a leader in the DME/rehab industry, as part of the Helixx Group. The Helixx Group consists of Altimate Medical, PinDot, Motion Concepts and Freedom Designs, all premium suppliers of comprehensive, specialized, mobility improvement solutions for the Rehab market. The partnership of these four organizations offers customers comprehensive solutions under one group while allowing for stronger, more diverse sales coverage and customer support.
